Get up, Stand up

By nature, humans are designed to walk by faith, not by sight. Yet, because of sin, we often find it easier to rely on what we see. However, when we find our new identity in Christ, we are called back to our original nature—walking by faith. God intended for our relationship with Him to be based on trust and faith, but sin disrupted that. So, what would you do if Jesus stood right in front of you, and you still struggled to walk by faith?

Imagine this: you’ve contracted leprosy, a disease that forces you to leave your family and friends. Isolated, you join others suffering the same fate, traveling together. One day, you see Jesus entering a town. From a distance, you call out, asking for healing. In response, God says, “Go to the priests”—the very priests you’re supposed to avoid because you’re considered unclean. Many of us would think, What is Jesus talking about? Doesn’t He know we can’t go to a priest? We’d likely continue on, ignoring what the OMNISCIENT MESSIAH told us to do. However, these men listened to God, and as they went to the priests, they were cleansed of their disease.

In life, we face all kinds of challenges, from minor inconveniences like running out of toothpaste to more serious worries, like wondering where our next paycheck will come from. When deadlines are approaching and we don’t see God moving, we tend to lose hope. We ask for a miracle, expecting God to make a way, yet we don’t even take the first step. Yes, God has the power to change our situation without us lifting a finger, but most of the time, we need to act. For some of us, the miracle lies on the other side of our obedience. God can’t bless us tenfold until we move. Sometimes, all it takes is listening to God’s instructions instead of questioning His power. One of the devil’s tactics to delay your miracle is by making you doubt the God who gave you purpose. We must not let our faith waver under such distractions but stand firm, trusting what God has said.
